NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Today was not a typical summer day as storms developed before daybreak in Mississippi and marched southward into Louisiana before noon. The North Shore received 1-2" of rain while the South Shore saw less than a half inch.
The cloud cover kept afternoon highs to the low 80s. Wednesday & Thursday should be more like basic summer time with highs back to near 90 and that heat should perk up more heavy storms. An even deeper layer of tropical moisture arrives for Friday & Saturday increasing our heavy rain potential.
