NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Wednesday was a great break for the rains of 2015.
Thursday through the weekend, rain chances will rise much higher as an upper low in the NE Gulf drifts westward.
We have been on the drier side, but as is moves closer we will see a deep plume of moisture invade the area starting Thursday afternoon and especially Friday through Sunday.
Winds will also pick up from the southeast during this time. Highs will stay in the mid-upper 80s as more clouds and rain move in.
We will see a drier trend moving in starting late Monday into mid next week. That means that the highs will rise back into the 90s.
The tropics remain quiet as we head into the weekend.
