Police: Home intruder caught in 3 minutes

Around 9:45 a.m., on June 11, 2015 a Slidell woman said she woke up to the sound of glass breaking from her back door. She called 911 and told the dispatcher someone was breaking into her house. Slidell police got to the scene in one minute and surrounded the house. Police say the suspect, 17-year-old Joshua Mills, heard them approaching and ran out the front door of the home. After a brief chase, officers apprehended Mills.

He was booked into the Slidell City jail and charged with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and resisting an officer. Slidell police detectives say Mills may be responsible for other burglaries in the area as well. No one was injured in the incident.
