Police: Suspect scattered victim's clothes on bayou

THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) - Thibodaux Police arrested a woman accused of stealing another woman's clothes and tossing them into the bayou.

Jessica Thomas, 22, was arrested for principle to simple burglary.

Police say on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 Thomas went to the victim's home on Harrison Street to start a fight, but the victim wasn't home. Someone then entered the home and stole over $2,500 worth of clothes and shoes according to police.

Thomas denied ever going into the victim's house. However, the victim told police she got a text message from Thomas claiming she could find all of her clothes "on the bayou side."

The investigation is ongoing. Thomas is being held at the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
