Police say an argument led to shooting

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

Police are searching for a gunman, who shot and wounded a man inside a home on Leonidas Street Friday morning  The shooting happened around 8 am  in the 1400 block of  Leonidas Street.  

Detectives say 26-year-old Brandon Jenkins got into an argument with a 28 year old man.  During the argument, officers say Jenkins produced a handgun and shot the victim to the leg. Jenkins allegedly fled the scene after the shooting and remains at large.

If arrested, Jenkins is facing a charge of Aggravated Battery by Shooting.

Second District Detectives are in charge of the investigation and can be contacted at 658-6020.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers at 822-1111 or toll-free 1-877-903-STOP. There is a cash reward of up to $2,500 for the information leading to Jenkins' arrest.  Citizens can also submit an anonymous tip online to Crimestoppers at www.crimestoppersgno.org
