Suspect in Jasilas Wright murder turns self in

METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - The man accused of killing 19-year-old Jasilas Wright, Adam Littleton, turned himself in to police in Shreveport today.

Littleton, 23, is accused of kidnapping and killing Wright according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.

Detectives determined that Littleton kidnapped Wright after a heated argument to take her back to Dallas, Texas where the two first met. Police say that Littleton told friends and family that while they were driving on I-10 Wright demanded to be let out of the car, but Littleton would not stop.

Police identified Littleton as Wright's boyfriend during the joint investigation by State Police and the JPSO.

According to detectives, Littleton told friends and family that Wright then opened the car door and jumped into the roadway. Littleton allegedly did not stop to help Wright, instead continuing to drive to Dallas.

Based on this information, police issued an arrest warrant for Littleton on one count of Second Degree Murder.

Police found Wright's body around 5:30 a.m. near Veterans Boulevard on June 10.
