Suspect in Jasilas Wright's I-10 death booked in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Adam Littleton, 23, now sits in Orleans Parish Prison.

Littleton surrendered to Shreveport police on Saturday after authorities named him as a suspect in the death of 19-year-old Jasilas Wright. Wright's body was found Wednesday (June 10) along I-10 near Veterans Boulevard in Metairie.

Littleton is accused of kidnapping Wright, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. Littleton was booked into Orleans Parish Prison on Sunday. His bond is set at $150,000.

Detectives say that Littleton kidnapped Wright following a heated argument to take her back to Dallas where the two first met. Police say that Littleton told friends and family that while they were driving on I-10, Wright demanded to be let out of the car. Littleton would not stop.

Police say Write jumped from the moving car. Detectives say Littleton continued driving.

Her body was found early Wednesday morning along I-10. Wright's death comes at the heels of a similar incident on I-10. On June 4, the body of 16-year-old Kaylan Ward was found around 6:30 a.m. along eastbound I-10 at Bullard Avenue in New Orleans.

New Orleans police say there is no evidence linking Ward and Wright's death.
