NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Bill has weakened from a Tropical Storm to a Tropical Depression. The center of the storm is moving northward across central Texas.
Bill has now moved well inland, but is still producing heavy rains in areas of east Texas. The area was inundated with flooding rains a few weeks ago.
Most rivers have only just recovered from over-topping of their banks.
For Southeast Louisiana, however, a much drier stretch of weather is in store. A few showers and storms are possible mainly with afternoon heating and highs in the low 90s.
Few, if any, showers are expected this weekend and early next week.
