NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Second Harvest Food Bank on Wednesday received a $50,000 grant from Morgan Stanley to continue its School Pantry Program in their initiative to give low-income families access to healthy meals. This is the second gift Second Harvest has received from Morgan Stanley, for a total of $100,000.
Second Harvest President and CEO, Natalie Jayroe said, "We are thrilled to receive this important grant from Morgan Stanley in support of our efforts to deliver more nutritious meals to children and families."
Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for Feeding America Nancy Curby said, "Grants like this from Morgan Stanley make a vital difference in our efforts to provide these children with the nutritious meals they need every day."
The grant is part of a $14 million commitment to Second Harvest which will fund the school pantry program at food banks in New Orleans, Opelousas, and a new site in Lake Charles.
