NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Sometimes the worst weather from a tropical system comes the day after landfall when "feeder bands" of heavy rain squalls rotate around the center. When those bands keep moving over the same locations, training occurs resulting in widespread flooding.
Fortunately, we are well east of all the storms and that should be the case for the next several days. Rain chances will be below normal hence daytime highs are likely to soar into the low to mid 90s.
Astronomical Summer arrives on Sunday, but the heat has been around for several weeks now. Get a grip, August is still six weeks away!
