Testimony expected to wrap up in dismembered Bourbon Street dancer trial

GRETNA, LA (WVUE) - Jurors hearing the case against Terry Speaks could start deliberations Friday.

Testimony and closing arguments are expected to wrap up either in the morning or early afternoon.

Speaks is accused of murdering and dismembering Bourbon Street dancer Jaren Lockhart three years ago.

Prosecutors say Speaks and his former girlfriend Margaret Sanchez dumped Lockhart's body in the Gulf of Mexico. The dismembered remains washed up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

A status hearing is scheduled also scheduled Friday for Sanchez who faces a separate trial for Lockhart's death.
