NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police discovered guns and drugs in a convicted felon's Hollygrove residence after a tip from his probation officer.
The NOPD arrested Jermaine Jenkins, 35, Thursday in the 4000 block of Hollygrove Street.
Officers knocked on his door around 1:30 p.m. When Jenkins realized police were at his home, he tried to run out of the back door where he was arrested by awaiting officers, according to investigators.
Detectives recovered 180 grams of marijuana, 7.74 grams of crack cocaine, 2.17 grams of heroin, and two pistols. One of the guns was reported stolen in New Orleans. All of the items were in plain view, according to police.
Jenkins was also carrying $900.
Jenkins was on probation for possession of crack cocaine until January 2017.
He was booked into central lock-up and charged with possession of a firearm while in possession of narcotics, felon in possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, possession of heroin, possession of crack cocaine, possession of marijuana and parole violation.
