NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - It turned out to be a lovely Father's Day with plenty of sunshine and very warm temperatures. We ended up with highs in the 90s once again. Armstrong International peaked at 92 with Audubon Park hitting 96 degrees for a second day in a row. Rain was again very limited with the Bermuda high still firmly in control.
Monday we will see a bit of a break with the edge of the high breaking down a bit. We will see a weak trough manage to slip through with the eastern high breaking and the western high still not fully in control. That will allow rain coverage to increase a bit and areas that end up with the showers will have potential for slightly less hot temperatures. Wednesday we can expect the western high to be fully in control drying us out once again and allowing temperatures to warm up into the middle 90s for the end of the week.
