NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Monday is the first full day of summer and it will feel that way.
Over the weekend, the area saw highs in the 91-96 range. I don't think we will see a lot of change to start the work week.
We are under the influence of the eastern Bermuda high. This stabilizes the air in heights that does not allow much if any cooling showers to form. The edge of the Bermuda high backs east during the day on Tuesday.
A weak trough manages to slip through with the eastern high breaking and the western high still not fully in control.
Rain coverage will increase a little with about 20 to 30 percent coverage by mid-week. Those that end up with the showers will get a brief break from the hottest temperatures.
