JSPO arrests suspect in triple shooting that left 2 dead

GRETNA, LA (WVUE) -

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in a triple shooting in Harvey that left two people dead.

Deputies say Dartanya Spottsville, 27, of Marrero. turned himself in at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center Monday afternoon.

He faces two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted first degree murder.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday on Apache Drive.

The homicide victims have been identified as Johnell Ovide, 23, of Harvey. He died on the scene. Trammell Marshall, 21, of Marrero, died at an area hospital. The third victim, a 23-year-old man from Marrero remains in critical condition at an area hospital.

Spottsville has a long criminal history. He is currently on probation in Jefferson Parish for possession of heroin.
