Man accused of shooting St. Charles deputy due in court
The man accused of shooting a St. Charles Parish Sheriff's deputy heads to court.
A discovery hearing is set for 56-year-old John Paul Devillier. Devillier is accused of shooting Corp. Bert Hazeltine on April 16.
Hazeltine has a wife and four children. He had been with the sheriff's department for nearly 15 years when he was shot. Hazeltine is still recovering from his injuries.
Hot temperatures persist, showers possible
Over the past several days, we have had an upper high in control bringing fewer showers and hotter temperatures.
Shower coverage has been on the low side.

New Orleans' Independent Police Monitor prepares recommendations for the NOPD, after a suspect in custody killed Officer Daryle Holloway.
The department is still knee-deep in its own investigation trying to determine how Travis Boys accessed two guns, while under arrest.
These recommendations are expected on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Busy Uptown intersection closed for 'emergency work'
Emergency work is underway at the intersection of Louisiana and St. Charles avenues.
The intersection will be closed from 6 a.m. on Tuesday through 10 p.m.
Lake bound Louisiana Ave. traffic will be detoured at Prytania Street to Washington Avenue to St Charles Avenue to Louisiana Avenue. River bound Louisiana Ave. traffic will be detoured at St Charles Avenue to Washington Avenue to Prytania Street to Louisiana Avenue.
