NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are searching for a man responsible for a Central City shooting that left a 42-year-old man injured. The incident occurred Monday around 4:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Danneel Street.
Police say that 23-year-old Daniel Hankton and the victim were involved in an argument which quickly turned physical. Afterwards, Hankton pulled out a gun and fired several shots towards the victim, striking him once in the arm. Hankton then fled in an unknown direction. The victim was brought to a local hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.
Investigators later determined that Hankton was the man responsible for the shooting. Once he is arrested, he will be charged with one count of attempted second degree murder.
