The search continues for a 32-year-old man who disappeared while tubing on the Bogue Chitto River, according to Washington Parish deputies.

Edmund Emerson Adams, 32, went missing around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday. Adams, a native of Prairieville and current resident of New Orleans, was tubing with a group of friends when he disappeared under the water, deputies say.

He was last seen near the Washington Parish community of Isabel along Highway 16.

Friends of Adams tell officers he lost control of his tube and disappeared below the surface of the water.

An extensive search was executed Wednesday afternoon for Adams' body. The search was called off at dark and will resume at 6 a.m. Thursday.

“Our officers, including divers, will be back on the river first thing [Thursday] morning and the search will continue until the body of Mr. Adams has been recovered,” said Washington Parish Sheriff Randy Seal.
