KENNER, LA (WVUE) -

Police are searching for an alleged purse snatcher who authorities say robbed a 78-year-old woman outside a Walmart in Kenner.

According to the Kenner Police Department, the victim was returning to her vehicle in the Walmart parking lot at 8912 Veterans Boulevard when a unknown man riding his bike approached her from behind and stole her purse, knocking her to the ground. The perpetrator then rode his bike westbound towards Roosevelt Boulevard.

Surveillance cameras captured the alleged purse snatcher and what police are calling two "persons of interest." The perpetrator is described as a black male wearing a red shirt. He was accompanied by a black male wearing blue jeans, a New Orleans Saints T-shirt and a baseball cap as well as a black male with a full beard, wearing a dark shirt and light colored jeans.

Surveillance video shows the three men arriving at the location on bicycles then loitering around the Money Center where the victim cashed a check before being robbed, according to police.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Kenner Police Sergeant Jeff Adams at (504) 712-2310 or CRIMESTOPPERS at (504) 822-1111.
