Body of missing Bogue Chitto tuber recovered, deputy says

WASHINGTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) - The body of 32-year-old Edmund Emerson Adams was found Friday morning, according to Washington Parish Chief Deputy Mike Haley.

Adams disappeared Wednesday while tubing on the Bogue Chitto River. His body was recovered in the Bogue Chitto River near Enon, Louisiana around 6 a.m. Friday. His body was found approximately 50 yards from where he was last seen, deputies say.

Adams, a native of Prairieville and current resident of New Orleans, was tubing with a group of friends when he disappeared under the water, deputies say. He was reported missing around 4:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Friends of Adams tell officers he lost control of his tube and disappeared below the surface of the water.

An extensive search scoured the waters for the missing tuber on Wednesday and Thursday. Washington Parish deputies confirmed that his body was recovered early Friday morning.
