Nicondra: Sunday drier north, scattered storms south

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - It was a busy Saturday with several periods of very heavy rain. Most storms were fast moving down pours, but didn't leave a lot behind. Most of our weather watchers called in less than an inch of rain. The unusual factor is the cold front that is draped across the area. It is giving a focus for showers through the overnight.

Showers will continue into the day Sunday as the front sinks south. Later in the afternoon the north shore will be a bit drier as the front settles along the coast. Expect more scattered storms through most of the River Parishes, south shore and coastal parishes. The rain does allow temperatures to get a break. While most locations peaked in the 90s still, the rain did quickly cool things down for the late afternoon.
