NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -
Sunday started out wet with a number of big booming storms moving along our cold front all through the day. Most of the heaviest storms moved off shore by mid-day, but we still had passing showers that continued into the afternoon. The benefit of the rain especially as it started early is that temperatures were much cooler for most of the day. Highs stayed in the 80s at most reporting stations.
That front will wash out during the day on Monday and allow us to get back to a more typical summer pattern with afternoon storms. Temperatures will start to rebound for the afternoon as well with highs in the upper 80s. We will see a bit more dry weather heading into the middle of the week. Thursday and Friday look like the driest days with minimal rain chances returning for the Independence Day holiday next weekend.
