Homeowner shoots man multiple times in Milan neighborhood

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Police are investigating an incident in which the owner of a home under renovation shot a man near his front steps in the Milan neighborhood Tuesday.

The shooting happened at about noon on Louisiana Avenue near Loyola Avenue.

When police arrived they found the 40-year-old victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was hospitalized in stable condition.

According to our partners at NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune, the homeowner's wife said she and her husband saw the man going inside the home and confronted him.

The 45-year-old homeowner is being interviewed and the investigation is ongoing.
