CHALMETTE, LA (WVUE) - St. Bernard Parish deputies want to find a man they say stabbed another man in an argument at a Chalmette apartment complex on June 26.

A judge issued a warrant for 42-year-old Elio Alexander Garcia on a charge of attempted second-degree murder. Investigators say Garcia and Gustavo Baltodano got into an argument in the parking lot of the apartment complex where they both lived.

Sheriff James Pohlmann says Garcia went upstairs to his apartment, came back with a knife and stabbed Baltodano in his left side.

According to the sheriff, Baltodano drove himself to St. Bernard Parish Hospital. He was transferred to University Hospital in New Orleans for treatment.

Investigators ask anyone with information about where Garcia may be to contact the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office or call Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
