Gunman in employee uniform steals $120K from Gentilly Walmart

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A gunman dressed like a Walmart employee robbed a Gentilly Walmart, stealing $120,000 in cash.

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Thursday at the Walmart located in the 4300 block of Chef Menteur Highway.

Video surveillance captures the suspect walking into the store in a Walmart employee's uniform. The man forced an employee into the office and demanded cash at gunpoint, according to police.

The employee complied and handed over cash. Officers say the gunman received $120,000 in cash.

The gunman fled the store and jumped into the passenger seat of a gold-colored vehicle, according to police. The vehicle fled in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as black male with a muscular build. He was last seen wearing a Walmart vest, blue shirt, dark colored jeans and white tennis shoes.
