Two brothers wanted for New Orleans East shooting

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans police are searching for two brothers who are wanted in connection for a non-fatal shooting in New Orleans East. The incident occurred Wednesday around 3:40 a.m. on the I-10 West Service Road, just shy of Morrison Road. The suspects have been identified as 24-year-old Blake Monroe and 25-year-old Larry Monroe.

Police say that the victim was traveling in a car on the service road when the suspects drove up next to his car and opened fire. The victim immediately backed his vehicle up and drove down Lamb Road. The suspects then drove away in an unknown direction. The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg. Four children, who were also in the victim's car at the time of the shooting, were not injured.

Citizen participation was used to help positively identify Blake and Larry Monroe as the shooters.
