LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Lafourche Parish deputies say they arrested a Cut Off man after he kidnapped a boy early Sunday morning.

Investigators say a 12-year-old boy was walking with a 15-yea-old boy along West 163rd Street in Galliano early Sunday morning when the incident occurred.

They say Kaleb Bruce, 21, grabbed the 12-year-old and placed him in the back seat of his vehicle. Investigators say Bruce placed a duffel bag over the boy's face and tied his hands together.

Detectives say the boy, who knew Bruce, was able to escape and called for help. When investigators questioned Bruce, they say he told them he went to West 163rd Street to get into a fight with a man related to the 12-year-old.

Detectives say they found a duffel bag in Bruce's back seat. Deputies arrested Bruce for simple kidnapping and transported him to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux.

A judge set his bond at $100,000.
