PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A North Shore man is accused of raping an 8-year-old victim.
Jason Robert Landry, 21, was arrested and charged with aggravated rape. Plaquemines Parish deputies say the victim, who is now 12-years-old, reported to allegations to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office on June 23.
Following an investigation, deputies say that an arrest warrant was issued for Landry. Officers say they believe Landry was 17-years-old when he allegedly commuted the crime.
He was arrested on June 28 by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and booked as a fugitive from Plaquemines Parish. He was later transported to Plaquemines Parish.
Deputies say Landry admitted to committing sex acts on the young victim during an interview.
He remains in custody on a $100,000 bond.
