NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - New Orleans Police are investigating a pair of Algiers armed robberies that took place about 20 minutes apart. The first incident occurred Monday around 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Odeon Avenue and Lamarque Street.
According to police, the suspect pulled out a gun and robbed the victim as he was walking in the area. The suspect took an electronic tablet from the victim prior to running away. The second incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Michael and Terry Streets.
Police say in that incident, four teenagers were walking in the area when they were approached by two black males. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and demanded the victims' belongings. All of the victims handed over their cell phones and wallets to the suspects, who ran away.
Citizens assisted detectives in identifying one of the two suspects wanted. Police arrested a 14-year-old boy and booked him in the Juvenile Bureau with armed robbery. Police are still investigating the case and are still searching for the second suspect.
