NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Three overnight shootings in New Orleans leave two dead and one injured.
The first shooting was reported around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in New Orleans East. Police say they received reports of shots fired in the 8700 block of Gervais Street. Officers arriving on the scene found a man fatally shot at the scene.
Several hours later, two shootings were reported within minutes of each other in the 7th Ward.
A man was shot dead around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Allen Street. Crews arriving on the scene found a 21-year-old man shot multiple times in the front yard of a house. He was transported to the hospital where he later died, police say.
A short time later, police say that a woman was shot in the 1700 block of Rousselin Drive. The shooting was reported around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Officers say that a woman was shot in the neck. Her condition is unknown at this time. A 10-year-old boy later showed up at the hospital with lacerations, police say. He was also involved in the Rousselin Drive incident, according to officers.
The two 7th Ward shootings happened within a mile of each other. Police have not speculated if they believe the two are related.
