NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Two shootings were reported within minutes of each other in the 7th Ward. The shootings happened less than one mile apart.
More than 85 evidence markers surround the scene of a fatal shooting in the 1800 block of Allen Street. A 21-year-old man was shot multiple times around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, New Orleans police say.
Officers found the man in front of a house suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police say. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.
A short time later, a second shooting was reported less than one mile away.
The incident was reported around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Rousselin Drive. A woman was shot in the neck and a 10-year-old boy was cut during the incident. Police say the child may have been cut by broken glass at the scene. The woman's injuries are unknown at this time.
The shootings happened within one mile of each other.
