NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - We have seen mostly dry weather over the last 24 hours with most rain staying west of the metro. A ridge of high pressure has kept the area mostly dry for the last few days, but folks west of I-55 are on the outer periphery and have a better opportunity to see a few showers and storms.
Most of the area, however, would only see less than 10% coverage. The upper high looks to build over us by the weekend, really limiting rain chances as well as sending afternoon temps into the mid and upper 90s.
Heat indices would exceed 105-110°, which is a dangerous category for anyone outdoors for any length of time. Use normal summertime precautions.
