NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A 32-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday in connection with a pickpocketing in the French Quarter.

The theft occurred Tuesday at about 7 p.m. in the 400 block of Bourbon Street. Police say Tiffany Bonney approached a 33-year-old man asking him for sex. After a brief conversation, Bonney walked away,

Moments later, the victim realized that his wallet was missing from his back pocket. The victim said he could remember Bonney putting her hands on his pants.

During the course of the investigation, detectives saw Bonney walking in the area and detained her for questioning. The victim arrived at the Eighth District Police Station and positively identified Bonney as the suspect.

Later in the investigation, detectives learned Bonney had made a purchase using the victim’s credit card at a local store.

Bonney was booked into Central Lock-Up and charged with pickpocketing and unauthorized use of a credit card.

Police say Bonney has been arrested multiple times for prostitution in the French Quarter.

Eighth District Officers are in charge of the investigation.
