St. Tammany sheriff: No probable cause to arrest doctor's wife

ST. TAMMANY PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

The St. Tammany Sheriff's Office says there's no probable cause to arrest the wife of a north shore doctor after she admitted to shooting and killing him.

The case has been turned over to the district attorney.

Kaci Breen admitted to investigators that she shot her husband, OBGYN Dr. Wayne Breen, during an argument on March 1.

On Wednesday, DA Warren Montgomery confirmed that he's received the sheriff's more than 1,000 page report, but his office will not comment while it reviews the documents.

The DA released the following statement:

The District Attorney’s Office has received a voluminous report from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office concerning its investigation into the shooting death of Dr. Wayne Breen. The Sheriff's Office is in the process of reproducing all of the supporting documentation that accompanies its report.  We will conduct a thorough examination of all of the materials submitted to us by the Sheriff's Office and determine how next to proceed.
