NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - As a ridge of high pressure continues to dominate the area, rain coverage is going to remain limited.
Models indicate a slight increase in our chance for showers Friday at around 30-40 percent.
This weekend, the high moves westward and centers more over Louisiana for a time, increasing temperatures to the mid 90s.
Heat indexes will near or exceed 110 degrees for an hour or more. It will be mostly dry next week with an occasional pop-up shower, but coverage will be less than 20 percent.
