NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Work continues on the new streetcar line and that means a big traffic change starting this weekend.
Beginning Sunday, Canal Street between Liberty and Burgundy will go down to one lane in each direction and N. Rampart from Canal to Iberville will be completely closed.
Workers are installing a half grand union for the new streetcar line that will allow streetcars to maneuver in the area. It will resemble the fork in the line on the Loyola track.
The project is scheduled to last 30 days. RTA officials are warning commuters of possible delays in the area.
