Burglar breaks into home, empties victim's pockets

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A burglar broke into a man's house and stole the money out of his pockets Friday morning in Algiers.

According to NOPD, a 67-year-old man saw someone looking through the front door panel of his home in the 500 block of Huntlee Drive. The man looking through the door panel disappeared after the 67-year-old told him to leave, but then the man heard glass break in his rear bedroom. The 67-year-old told police he went to check out the sound, but didn't see anything.

Later, an unknown person snuck up behind the man and pulled a blanket over his head. According to NOPD, the unknown perpetrator went through the man's pockets, stole his money and ran.
