NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Today is the hottest day of the year so far as we reached 95 for the 1st time this summer. Little relief is likely for the rest of this week as an upper level high will keep rain chances to slim to none through Friday.
There are several clusters of storms in the tropics, but nothing appears to be getting better organized. With the heat index topping 105+ each day, the usual summer heat precautions should be taken if working or playing outdoors.
