THIBODAUX, LA (WVUE) -

A Thibodaux woman was arrested Friday on an outstanding warrant for repeatedly striking a man in the head and face with a hammer, according to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre.

Datreanna Queen, 20, was booked with aggravated battery in connection with the alleged beating.

Webre said that on June 29 at around 1 p.m., deputies responded to the incident and learned that a man had been in a verbal altercation with Queen. During the argument, Queen allegedly struck the man in the head and face with a hammer multiple times. The man was treated at a local hospital and released.

Deputies were initially unable to find Queen, but located her Friday.

She was booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center, where she is being held on a $25,000 bond.
