NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

New Orleans police have arrested one man and are searching for another responsible for a home burglary in Gentilly. The incident occurred Friday at 10 p.m. in the 2100 block of Selma Street.

Police say that the victims met a man on a social media site and invited him to come to their house. When the suspect arrived, he said that he would come back shortly. When he came back, the victim's let him in. A few minutes later, a second man, armed with a gun, came into the home. The armed suspect stole the victim's cell phone and prescription medication, prior to leaving the house.

Investigators later identified 31-year-old John Smith and 25-year-old Fred Thomas as the two suspects. Police were able to arrest Smith for aggravated battery and obtained an arrest warrant for Thomas for aggravated battery.
