LIVINGSTON PARISH, LA (WVUE) -- - A 21-year-old Gonzales man initially sought as a person of interest in the disappearance of his father was jailed and then released Tuesday after his father was found safe.
Shane Paul Gaudin Jr, was booked into the Ascension Parish Detention Center early Tuesday morning as a fugitive from Livingston Parish on an obstruction of justice charge.
"Gaudin Jr.'s arrest was pursuant to his actions - as well as statements - he made earlier to family members concerning his missing father," according to Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard. "During the afternoon hours of July 14, 2015, Shane Paul Gaudin Sr. made a call to a family member advising that he was alright and was coming home."
Investigators met with Gaudin Sr. and verified that he was OK.
Gaudin Jr. will be released from the detention center, Ard said.
