Zeus says no more parading in current 'political climate'

METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) -

The Krewe of Zeus said "no more, no longer and not again" as it decided not to roll in Jefferson Parish next year.

Metairie's oldest Carnival krewe did not parade this year, either. The parish had suspended it because in 2014, a band showed up with fewer than the required 30 members.

Zeus said it's choosing not to roll in what it calls a “political climate.”

In response, Jefferson Parish called it "unfortunate" that the krewe did not meet parish requirements.
