LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A New Orleans man is dead following a Wednesday night crash in Lafourche Parish.
Omar Faruk, 30, was killed following the two-vehicle crash. The crash happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday on LA 308 just north of the Valentine Bridge in Lafourche Parish
Police say Faruk was driving his Nissan Altima northbound when he failed to negotiate a slight left turn. Officers say his vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, rotated and entered the southbound lanes of LA 308.
His vehicle stuck a southbound Chrysler Town and Country van, driven by 32-year-old Joshua Johns.
Faruk was pronounced dead at the scene. Johns, a Charlotte, Florida resident, was transported to Terrebonne General Medical Center with minor injuries.
Routine toxicology tests are pending, police say. The crash remains under investigation.
