Arrest made in attempted NO East rape case

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The teenager accused of attempting to rape a woman in New Orleans East has been arrested.

According to NOPD, 17-year-old Jeremiah Mills, also known as "White Boy," is in police custody.

The alleged attempted assault occurred Wednesday in the 8600 block of Castle Court. Police said at around 2 p.m., the suspect produced a gun and attempted to sexually assaulted the victim in an alleyway in the area. The victim was able to escape and call police. 

Mills is charged with Attempted Aggravated Rape and Armed Robbery.
