Fat City gunman on the loose

METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - A search is underway for an 18-year-old man, last seen firing his gun in the Fat City area of Jefferson Parish, as officers looked on.

According to Sheriff Newell Normand, deputies were canvassing an area in Fat City in response to a rash of recent robberies. On July 8, deputies were in the vicinity of Edenborn near West Esplanade when they observed a man firing his gun.

Deputies began to chase the gunman, but after a brief foot pursuit, he managed to escape.

As the investigation continued, deputies were able to develop information that led to his identity. Arrest warrants have now been issued for Leondre Williams, who lives in the 3500 block of Edenborn Avenue in Metairie.

When he's caught, Williams will be charged with illegal discharging of a firearm and resisting an officer by flight.
