BATON ROUGE, LA (WVUE) - Drivers heading west of Baton Rouge towards Lafayette need to pack some patience if they're traveling on I-10 this weekend.
Louisiana State Police say construction will reduce the interstate to just one lane at mile post 139 in Grosse Tete. The lane closure begins at 8 p.m. July 17 and will stay that way until Monday morning, July 20 at 6 a.m.
Drivers are urged to leave adequate braking room between vehicles, traffic barriers, construction equipment and highway workers.
If you'd like to avoid the area altogether, State Police suggest using US 190 as an alternate route.
