According to the NWS, temperatures will reach the mid-to-upper 90s with heat index values going about 110 degrees Sunday and Monday afternoons.
The City of New Orleans also put out an advisory, asking residents to stay indoors, preferably in air conditioned buildings during the hottest parts of the day. City officials also recommend doing any outdoor activities that must be done in the early morning or late evening.
