A man out on parole faces numerous drug charges following a traffic stop in Thibodaux.

Alfonzo Johnson, 26, was arrested around 11:45 a.m. Sunday. Officers say they pulled over his vehicle after he failed to use a turn signal and for having an illegal window tint.

After making contact with Johnson, officers say they learned that the suspect had prior drug offenses and was out on parole.

Following a search of Johnson’s vehicle, police say they recovered cocaine, ecstasy and illegal narcotics from the vehicle. Alfonso tried to convince officers that the cocaine was actually deodorant, according to the Thibodaux Police Department.

A field test proved that the substance was actually cocaine, police say.

Alfonzo was placed under arrest and given a warning for the window unit. He was arrested for possession of a ecstasy, cocaine and legend drugs without a prescription. He was released from Lafourche Parish Detention Center after posting a $9,050 bond.
