NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans Police released surveillance pictures of a man they think may have critical information about an armed robbery in the Bywater.

It happened on June 21 around 12 a.m. in the 3100 block of Dauphine St.

Investigators say a woman was walking down Dauphine when a man, holding a black semi-automatic handgun, approached her. Police say the woman gave the robber her cell phone and wallet.

About 20 minutes later, investigators say a surveillance camera captured images of a person using the victim's credit card at a gas station in the 1500 block of Franklin.

Police want to question the man in the surveillance pictures about the armed robbery. At this point, officers aren't calling him a suspect.  If you know who he may be, you're urged to call Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
