PLAQUEMINES PARISH, LA (WVUE) -

Deputies arrest a man accused of stealing three shotguns from a shed along Highway 15 in the community of Davant.

The Plaquemines Parish Sheriff's Office booked Terry Encalade Jr. with simple burglary. His bond was set at $25,000.

Detectives say the guns were stolen July 17. They say they eventually identified the 43-year-old as a suspect through evidence and tips from the community.

Deputies tracked Encalade to New Orleans and picked him up for questioning on Sunday. The sheriff's office says he confessed to stealing, then selling the three shotguns, as well as one of his own weapons. Encalade allegedly got $60 for the firearms, and used the money to support a drug addiction.

Investigators recovered the weapons.
